Canada’s National Tower is not only the tallest building in Canada, but also the entire Western Hemisphere! It measures more than half a kilometre (one-third of a mile) tall from its base to the top of the antenna—553.33 metres, or 1815.5 feet. Want to learn more? Explore the Tower

The CN Tower is open year-round. While our busiest months are in the summer, the changing weather conditions of the seasons can create a dramatically different experience, whether it’s the tops of Toronto’s skyscrapers poking through the clouds on a foggy day in the spring or the perfect crispness of a winter afternoon.

The time of day matters, too. Sunset and evening visits can make it feel like the city has lit up just for you, while mornings and afternoons can show off the full breadth and beauty of Toronto and Lake Ontario. No matter when you choose to visit, though, we always recommend that you buy your tickets ahead of time.

The best way to buy tickets is through our website, which will ensure that the date and time you wish to visit is available. Tickets can be purchased up to thirty (30) days in advance, and you can purchase up to a maximum of eight (8) tickets at a time—and children aged two (2) years and younger receive complimentary admission!

You can also buy tickets onsite at our self-serve kiosks or in person at the CN Tower admissions entrance. For existing tickets or vouchers that do not yet have a reservation time, please exchange them in person for a timed ticket. Entry times are subject to availability.

Do not buy tickets from any other source other than the CN Tower or our verified partners, Ripley’s Aquarium and Toronto CityPASS, as the ticket may not be valid for admission. We reserve the right to deny admission in any instance where we cannot verify the origin of the ticket.

All ticket prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise; all prices are subject to change without notice. Tickets and gift cards/certificates are non-refundable, cannot be sold, and will not be replaced if expired, destroyed, lost or stolen.

All ticket sales are final; tickets are non-refundable, cannot be exchanged, and cannot be re-printed onsite. All ticket sales are subject to any public health measures taken by CN Tower to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, which measures may change over time.

Payment options for tickets purchased onsite include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, AliPay, WeChat, Interac and pre-paid gift cards. Payment options for tickets purchased online include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB.

All tickets to the CN Tower are now timed—that means that they are valid only from the specific time and date on your ticket until the end of that day. Once you’re up on the Main Observation Level, you can stay as long as you like. Please note that each ticket is only valid for one trip up the elevator to the Main Observation Level and back.

Admission to The Top can be added to your Timed General Admission Ticket, either at the time of purchase online or from our kiosk on the Main Observation Level.

In general, we recommend you set aside two hours to get the full Tower experience.

Our prix fixe dining options at 360 Restaurant include complimentary access to our Main and Lower Observation Levels after your meal, so you don’t need to buy a ticket.

Note: Cancelling a reservation with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a $30 per person charge being applied to the credit card used at the time of booking. 360 guests must spend a minimum of $75 on food per person (minimum spend is $40 for children 4 to 12) which includes elevation to the restaurant and access to the CN Tower's Main and Lower Observation Level following your meal.

The Top is the highest observation platform in the Western Hemisphere and a full 33 storeys higher than the Main Observation Level—it is the highest you can get in the city without being in an aircraft.

While we don’t offer guided tours, there are plenty of CN Tower staff members on each level who can assist you with any questions you may have. We also recommend that you download our free Viewfinder app, which provides information on dozens of buildings and other points of interest in the Toronto skyline visible from the Main Observation Level.

Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over.

What would a trip to the CN Tower be without photos? We encourage you to bring your cameras, phones and tablets with you when you visit. Tripods are allowed, as long as you don’t disrupt the experiences of other guests.

We’re also proud to partner with Digital Attractions to provide professional photos of your visit to the Tower—you’ll find Digital Attractions by the elevators on the ground floor, where they can take your photo before you board.

We ask that all guests limit the number and size of items that they bring to the Tower. Bags, purses, and knapsacks smaller than 53 x 23 x 38 cm are welcome inside the building, but we do not have lockers on site, and larger bags (including luggage) are not permitted. CN Tower staff will inspect your bags, so travelling lightly will also ensure a quicker entry.

If you are travelling with a larger bag, consider a nearby luggage storage location.

Our Security team inspects every bag and uses a metal detector to scan for prohibited items, which to ensure the safety of all of our guests, will be confiscated and not returned. See the full list of prohibited items here. We also randomly screen for explosives, and we keep the premises under video surveillance at all times. Our walk-through metal detectors are compliant with applicable electromagnetic standards on human exposure and pacemaker safety.

All CN Tower employees are trained in health and life safety, including evacuation procedures. In the event of an emergency, please follow instructions delivered over the public address system, or from uniformed employees and security personnel.

Guests, contractors and visitors are expected to adhere to the Customer Code of Conduct. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal from the premises. Ticket holders may also be removed at any time, with the purchase price of their ticket refunded. For those found breaking any law, regulation or venue policy, we also reserve the right to remove them without compensation.

While outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed, we encourage you to visit our on-site dining venues, including 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower, the VUE Bistros and Le Café, to take in a meal or a snack while you’re taking in the view.

We always welcome certified service animals, but pets of any kind should be left at home.

We offer special rates for groups of 20 or more guests. Every group must be registered in advance. Contact our group sales team for more information.

Per provincial law, smoking or vaping of any kind is not permitted in any area of the building, and not within 9 metres (30 feet) of our entrance or exit. Guests who choose to smoke outside the CN Tower are asked to take care to extinguish their cigarettes using appropriate receptacles.

While we accept walk-ins, we ask that guests make reservations online to ensure availability during busy periods like weekends and holidays. Reservations can be made online or by calling 416 362 5411.

The dress code at 360 ranges from smart casual to formal. Some guests choose to dine with us during a visit to the Tower and are dressed more casually while many others are celebrating special milestones and are more dressed up.

The CN Tower holds 2 annual fundraising stair climbs each year, one in the spring for the World Wildlife Federation and one in the autumn for the United Way.

Unfortunately, we cannot commit to hosting any additional climbs outside of these two longstanding events.

Please fill out this form. Our Security team holds lost items for up to 2 months before they are donated. Please note that personal items, such as phones or keys, will be appropriately disposed of if they are not picked up within 2 months.

EdgeWalk

We’ll meet you at EdgeWalk base camp on the ground level to give you a full orientation before we ascend to the Summit Room, two storeys above the Main Observation Level. There, we’ll strap your harness onto the rail and you’ll be on your way. Starting at the south side of the Tower above 360 Restaurant, you will follow your guide around the circumference of the building before returning. The whole experience takes about 90 minutes from start to finish, with 30 minutes spent on the EdgeWalk.

Once you’ve completed your Walk, you’ll also receive a certificate of achievement, video, two (2) printed photographs of your Walk and a ticket to visit the rest of the Tower, including The Top!

Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled EdgeWalk. Upon arrival at the entrance plaza, please bypass all ticketing lines and proceed directly to the Main Entrance. A team member will direct you through a brief security and health screening. Please allow enough time to gain access to the building, check in with our front desk staff and complete a waiver. In order to expedite entry, please consider travelling light and avoid bringing any unnecessary items or bags. Walkers aged 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian at the check-in process to provide written consent.

We’ll provide you with a Walk suit to be worn over top of your clothing. Depending on the weather, we’ll also provide hats, gloves and jackets, but you’ll want to dress appropriately for the conditions.

We also ask that you wear running shoes or similarly enclosed, lace-up footwear. If you didn’t bring a pair with you, we can provide you some to use during your EdgeWalk.

Just yourself, your clothes and your eyewear. We’ll provide a lanyard for eyeglasses and sunglasses, but all other items—wallets, keys, phones, removable jewelry—must be left inside the Tower in one of our available lockers. Any essential medications must be taken before or after experiencing EdgeWalk.

Our EdgeWalk guides are equipped with cameras, and all Walkers receive a complimentary video and two (2) printed photos of their experience. Personal recording devices of any kind are not permitted during the EdgeWalk.

EdgeWalk tickets are valid for a specific time and date. While they are not refundable, changes to the date and/or time of the reservation are permitted to be made 72 hours or more in advance of your Walk, subject to availability.

Safety is incorporated into every aspect of EdgeWalk’s design and operation. EdgeWalk staff are trained to secure your harness properly, and we regularly perform safety reviews and maintenance to ensure that we not only meet all applicable standards but exceed them. We also will not conduct EdgeWalks during electrical storms, dangerously high winds or other extreme weather conditions.

We want to make the thrill of EdgeWalk available to as many people as possible. That’s why we offer a specially designed one-piece wheelchair, which allows participants who meet our criteria the opportunity to participate. The existing safety equipment harness and overhead trolley system are exactly the same—we have adapted the Walk suit for easier dressing, and the wheelchair has its own attachment to the overhead trolley.

Accessible EdgeWalk experiences will be available daily and must be booked by telephone. Please call 416 601 3833 to discuss your specific needs and arrangements.
